Title: Manna and Mercy – A brief history of God’s unfolding promise to mend the entire universe.
[This is the title of a book written by Daniel Erlander see http://www.danielerlander.com/
We will go on a journey from Genesis to Revelation reflecting on how Manna (a symbol for food, generosity and justice) and mercy are two of the deepest currents running through all of scripture. Jesus came to bring good news to the poor and the church is called to be good news for the poor today.
This is especially true in South Africa that is one of the most unequal countries in the world.
Participants will not only be inspired by the radical challengeof scripture’s call to “do justice”, but will be given new tools to useand stories to tell in order to creatively teach the scriptures withintheir congregations.
Participants will be equipped to share God’s dream for this world withtheir congregations. Manna and Mercy makes a direct impact onthe outward mission of congregations.
Note: Each participant will be expected to purchase their own copy of Manna and Mercy for R60. Copies of all the power point slideswill be provided free of charge.
